About the Author

This is David’s fifth book of Merseyside history and landscape work. He has spent many years exploring Liverpool and Merseyside, either on foot, through the archives or through photographs, and he has worked with photographers and other writers on exhibitions and radio pieces about the city.

David grew up surrounded by Beatles landscapes and Beatles stories, and felt that 2010 was a good year to collect the stories and explore the landscapes because John Lennon would have been 70, and Ringo Starr was 70 in July.

His background in Liverpool’s history means that he is the ideal person to write a book on the Beatles’ Liverpool landscapes as he sees these stories from the city’s perspective, not the fans’.
