ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jon Pear is a true born-and-bred Cockney who has always had a passion for the Isle of Skye. He has been a regular visitor to Skye for over 40 years and relocated there six years ago with his wife, Linda. Jon feels that he has a strong empathy with both the people and the place and, after reading a number of books containing images of Skye, he decided to write this book to present a new way of ‘seeing’ Skye.
Jon has been a keen photographer for many years and has supplied a great number of newspapers with his work. He has a constant stream of requests to supply images of Skye and Scotland and, aside from his landscape photography, both he and Linda work as wedding photographers. They run their own photography website, www.juicypear.org, which displays their work.
