Hall of Fame: Rangers' All-Time GreatsAuthor: Bob MacCallumHall of Fame: Rangers' All-Time GreatsA sporting Hall of Fame is a rather American institution but Rangers became one of the first football clubs (if not the first one) in Britain to set up its own Hall of Fame to honour the greatest figures from its past. The club’s owner, Sir David Murray, established the Hall of Fame in 2000 as a way of commemorating the achievements of the most celebrated players in the history of Rangers. Since 1873, world-class footballers and great characters have been a hallmark of the club and have helped to make it the world’s most successful club with a record 51 League championships. Despite the fact that great players come and go, the club goes on.

Since retiring as an English teacher, due to ill health, with the absence of turgid essays to be marked, Bob MacCallum has had the time to write about Rangers - 'the other passion in my life (apart from my wife, Jessica).'
Since 2001 he has had three books about Rangers published, The Best of the Blues, Rangers’ 50 Flags and Rangers’ Treble Kings, which have all sold thousands of copies. Says MacCallum, 'I have supported the club for over 50 years now and still get as excited about going to a match as I did when Jim Baxter and Willie Henderson were playing in the 60s. I am a season ticket holder as well as a shareholder in the club.'
