PAUL SMITH, sport news editor of the Aberdeen Press and Journal, was appointed to his current role in 2002 having previously served as a sports writer on the paper. He launched his career in journalism in 1996 with DC Thomson as a news and sports reporter on the Sunday Post, Dundee Courier and Evening Telegraph. He has also worked in weekly journalism and was appointed as Britain’s youngest newspaper editor at the age of 19 by the Inverurie Herald.
