Michael Richardson is a Durham City local historian who has, over the last 30 years, built up a remarkable archive of old photographs relating to the city and its surrounding villages.

Michael’s wealth of knowledge is widely recognised. He brings alive the city’s rich social history, especially in his slide presentations. His previous books have given many people an opportunity to explore local and family history in their own homes.
